Our Story
Our story began in January 2024, when a group of 20 people came together with a shared dream: to pray about starting a new church in and for Northwest Houston. From the beginning, we felt called to be a church that’s more than just a Sunday service—a church where people can follow Jesus, love one another, and embody God’s mission every day of the week.
As we prayed and planned, our team dedicated ourselves to loving and serving our neighbors, blessing our community, and partnering with local schools. Along the way, God has brought incredible growth. What began as a small gathering has flourished into a thriving church, united by a shared vision to make an impact in Northwest Houston.

Our Purpose
From the beginning, our vision has been to plant a church, not just to create a Sunday morning service. We believe the church is not defined by a building or a gathering but by a community of people on mission with God.
Our purpose is to cultivate a community of people following Jesus together, growing in faith, serving our neighbors, and embodying the way of Jesus in everyday life. That’s why we are dedicated to investing in the next generation, fostering genuine relationships through small groups, and making a meaningful impact in our community through acts of service.
At Story Church, we want everyone to experience the fullness of God’s greater story and find their unique place within it. Together, we’re building a space where people can encounter Jesus for the first time and where we’re all reminded of this profound truth:

Our values reflect the kind of church God is shaping us to be. They aren’t just words for a wall—they’re meant to be lived out and experienced by everyone who encounters Story Church or calls it home.
Jesus Over Everything
A group of people who prioritize Jesus above all else by setting aside our personal passions, wants, and desires to seek Him together. Regardless of our differences, we are united in our devotion to Jesus and His teachings.
Humility
We follow Jesus’ model and teaching to put others before ourselves and to approach every situation with humble hearts. We will strive to cultivate humility in our words and actions, recognizing that it is the servants who are greatest in the Kingdom of God.
Storytelling
We believe that everyone has a unique and valuable story to tell. We embrace the stories that God has given us, recognizing their ability to create meaningful connections with those who have not yet found Jesus. Through sharing our own stories, we aim to reach others and invite them into God’s great story.
Outward Focused
We care about the empty chair. We seek to reach those who are not yet a part of God’s great story. We are committed to meeting people where they are, hearing their stories, and sharing the love and transforming message of Jesus with them in ways that are life-changing.
Sacrificial Generosity
We strive to be generous with our time, talents, and finances in order to serve others and advance God’s kingdom beyond ourselves. Our sacrificial generosity is directly connected to our trust of God’s ability to meet our own needs. We believe that God has entrusted us with resources and blessings to be used to bless others and advance His kingdom.

The Trinity
We believe in the Trinity, which is the doctrine that God is one, existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The three persons of the Trinity are distinct and unified, co-existing in perfect harmony and working together to create and sustain the world. We recognize that since God is the Creator and the source of all life, He exists in three persons who are distinct yet united, understanding each other completely and working together to bring about His plans for humanity. We believe that the Trinity is an essential part of understanding God and His purpose for us. By embracing the Trinity, we can have a deeper relationship with the Lord and better understand His will for our lives.
Jesus
We believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God. He is the central figure of Christianity, the Word of God made flesh. Jesus was sent by God to be the ultimate sacrifice for our sins so that we could enjoy an eternal life with Him. Jesus’ teachings on love, forgiveness, humility, and repentance are at the core of our beliefs. We also believe in Jesus’ resurrection, that it was proof of His deity and the promise of eternal life for all those who believe. We are called to follow Jesus, to live lives of holiness, and to share the good news of the gospel. As we learn to love and serve others, we are reminded of Jesus’ example of love and sacrifice.
The Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit, who is the third person of the Trinity. The Holy Spirit is the unifying power between God and humanity, and is the source of our comfort, guidance, and strength. The Holy Spirit helps us to understand and appreciate the Bible, and helps us to live out its teachings in our lives. We believe that the Holy Spirit is with us always, faithfully guiding us in our walk with God. We also believe that the Holy Spirit gives us gifts such as wisdom, knowledge, understanding, healing, miracles, tongues, and prophecy so that we can be used to serve God and spread His love.
The Bible
We believe in the divine inspiration of the Bible, that it is the true and inspired word of God. We believe that the Bible is our standard for life, and its truth, integrity, and relevance is of utmost importance. The Bible is not just a book, but a living guide, full of God’s wisdom and guidance. Through scripture, we learn about God’s character, how to live and act, and how to grow in our spiritual journey. We believe that by reading and studying the Bible, we are able to draw closer to God and deepen our understanding of His love.
Human Beings
We believe that people are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. People are the supreme object of God's creation. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called sin. This attitude separates people from God and causes many problems in life.
Salvation
We believe salvation is God's free gift to us but we must accept it. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God's offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin's penalty. When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith we are saved. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith.
Eternal Security
We believe that the because God gives us eternal life through Jesus Christ, the true believer is secure in that salvation for eternity. If you have been genuinely saved, you cannot lose it. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian. It is the grace and keeping power of God that gives us this security.
About Eternity
We believe that people were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence.
